"C'est incroyable puisque tout dans 'Black Panther' se passe dans un pays africain, un pays imaginaire, le Wakanda. C'est du jamais-vu. Le magazine "Time" a mis Chadwick Boseman, l'un des réalisateurs du film, en couverture de son dernier numéro, avec le titre : "Le pouvoir révolutionnaire de 'Black Panther'".

"J'ai grandi en lisant des BD, j'adorais Black Panther et j'ai attendu ce film toute ma vie", s'enthousiasme l'acteur, scénariste et réalisateur afro-américain Ahmed Best.

Wakanda, le pays imaginaire du film, rompt avec le stéréotype de l'Afrique sinistrée. Les réalisateurs ont mis en scène une contrée riche, jamais colonisée, qui accueille les réfugiés des nations les plus pauvres.
